Sugiere que el objetivo de la regulaci\u00f3n\u00a0<strong>no es la constancia<\/strong>, sino mantener la aptitud f\u00edsica en la selecci\u00f3n natural (<strong>adaptaci\u00f3n<\/strong>).<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>En general tenemos la idea de que todo organismo vivo debe mantener sus variables estables ya que \u00e9stas sostienen la\u00a0<strong>homeostasis<\/strong>. Esta creencia procede de los cl\u00e1sicos trabajos del fisi\u00f3logo Claude Bernard en 1865 (<em>Milieu interieur<\/em>) y del nombre acu\u00f1ado por el fisi\u00f3logo Walter Cannon en 1926. La homeostasis describe la caracter\u00edstica esencial de todos los seres vivos que definen un interior y lo mantienen estable en un ambiente inestable. La temperatura corporal o el ph sangu\u00edneo son ejemplos de ello. Este concepto ha dominado la fisiolog\u00eda y la medicina desde que Claude Bernard declar\u00f3:<em>\u00a0&#8220;Todos los mecanismos vitales &#8230; tienen un solo objetivo: preservar constantes las condiciones del medio interno&#8221;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Su m\u00e1xima se ha interpretado<em>\u00a0literalmente<\/em>\u00a0como que significa que el prop\u00f3sito de la regulaci\u00f3n fisiol\u00f3gica es fijar cada par\u00e1metro interno en un &#8220;punto de ajuste&#8221; (<em>setpoint<\/em>) detectando los errores y corrigi\u00e9ndolos con realimentaci\u00f3n negativa (Cannon, 1935: Figura
