\nResumen:<\/strong> Existen expectativas mutuas entre m\u00e9dicos y pacientes sobre lo que uno puede esperar del otro. Es com\u00fan a ambos esperar comprensi\u00f3n, respeto y ausencia de da\u00f1o.
\nEn beneficio del paciente el m\u00e9dico debe preservar una cierta neutralidad terap\u00e9utica. El m\u00e9dico aconseja. Pero solo debe hacerlo sobre cuestiones generales relacionadas con los cuidados sanitarios. Nunca debe hacerlo sobre aspectos personales de la vida del paciente. Ni siquiera en el frecuente caso de que \u00e9ste se lo pida.
\nUna exclusi\u00f3n total de la subjetividad resulta ut\u00f3pica y nunca puede llevarse a cabo de manera satisfactoria. Por ello lo m\u00e1s pr\u00e1ctico es que el m\u00e9dico se conozca a s\u00ed mismo, al menos en los aspectos b\u00e1sicos de su personalidad, y pueda utilizarlos de una manera prudente en beneficio del paciente.

Abstract:<\/strong> There are mutual expectations between doctors and patients about what one can expect from the other. It is common for both to expect understanding, respect\u00a0and absence of harm. For the benefit of the patient, the doctor must preserve a certain\u00a0therapeutic neutrality. The doctor advises. But you should only do so on general issues\u00a0related to health care. You should never do it about personal aspects of the patient\u2019s life.\u00a0Not even in the frequent case that he asks for it.\u00a0A total exclusion of subjectivity is utopian and can never be carried out satisfactorily.\u00a0Therefore, the most practical thing is that the doctor knows himself, at least in the basic\u00a0aspects of his personality, and can use them in a prudent way for the benefit of the\u00a0patient.
